Attending the Membership Inquiry Classes doesn't mean you have to make a commitment to join Grace. If you'd like to let us know you're coming, or want to touch base with Pastor Melody, click here.
Session 1: What's a Lutheran?
Tuesday, May 9 7-8:30 pm
A brief intro to Martin Luther, what he changed, what he kept, and why we still practice being a "Reforming People." (The history includes lightening strikes and fish barrels. Definitely not boring!)
Session 2: What's Grace about?
Tuesday, May 16 7-8:30 pm
Well, there's Grace and there's Grace. Grace is the name we've taken to express our desire to show God's Grace to the world. Here's where we'll explore all the great stuff we do to live out our calling, and give you a chance to see where you might plug in.
Session 3: What's the ELCA?
Tuesday, May 23 7-8:30 pm
The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America is only one of many Lutheran denominations. Why the difference? How do we relate to all the other faiths and religions--in the US and around the globe? How do we make decisions, and who holds authority?
Session 4: What does this mean for me?
Tuesday, May 30 7-8:30 pm
There are people who want to have a church, and people who want to be The Church. We're focused on the second option. Membership at Grace means a commitment to living the Good News out in a way that makes a difference--to you and to the people around you. It's a matter of making choices and setting priorities--and realizing the blessing that comes from that clarity.
