Welcome to Grace!
If you are a visitor to this site, or to our church, let me say that you are most welcome! And by the way, that welcome doesn't come with conditions. It doesn't matter if you've been a Lutheran or a Christian all your life, or if you've never belonged to any faith tradition. It doesn't matter if you have questions and doubts, or a healthy skepticism, or a life-long faith foundation that has never been shaken. It doesn't matter if you've felt unwelcome elsewhere. It doesn't matter if you feel incredibly blessed, or if you're feeling decidedly not so. You are welcome here. Seriously. You may be looking for a place to explore and ask questions about God and Jesus. This is a good place for that. You may be looking for a place for your faith to grow and mature. This is a good place for that. You may be looking for a place to live out your faith in service and love given to others. This is a good place for that, too. We believe that faith isn't merely about believing "the right things." It's a way of living in the world, changed by our relationship with a powerful and creative God, a forgiving, compassionate Savior, and a Spirit of transformation and justice. We don't believe our faith makes us better than others. It makes us better for others. |

Faith doesn't mean you don't have questions. It's more a matter of gaining courage to face a complicated world with a belief in wholeness and healing, and revealing the love of Jesus--a divine love that faced even death with a word of life. We believe that, in our baptism, we carry resurrection power with us even now, and we're called to live it out in the world.
Grace isn't a huge church. But we're deeply committed to ministry in our community, with a long history of partnerships with neighbors such as the Glen Ellyn Food Pantry (which has been housed in our building since 1979, and has now grown so much that they are building a new, expanded space!), Glen Ellyn Senior Services, CROP Walk, PADS, and others. We're committed to providing a place where our children can learn the strength of their faith, and how to use it as a tool (and not a weapon!) to reveal hope through Jesus Christ.
If you'd like to find out more about Grace, please come and worship with us! (Yes, even if you're still in that "I-don't-know-what-I-believe" stage, it's cool to come.) Or, feel free to give me a call at 630-469-1555. Or email me at meastman@graceglenellyn.org.
Just know that, no matter where you are in your faith journey, you're not alone.
