ESSE
(Ecumenical
​Support Services
for the Elderly)

ESSE is an independent organization supported by several congregations throughout our area. ESSE's mission is "to provide adult day care options that promote the physical, emotional, and spiritual well being of older adults and their families." Grace is one of many area congregations that provide both financial and volunteer support to ESSE. Day sites are located at St. Paul Lutheran in Wheaton, Faith Lutheran in Glen Ellyn, and Community Baptist Church in Warrenville. Click here to visit ESSE's website.

Glen Ellyn Food Pantry

The Glen Ellyn Food Pantry is always looking for students to help with donation collections, sorting of goods, and fundraising at Jewel Food Store in Glen Ellyn.
The pantry is located at 55 N. Park Boulevard in Glen Ellyn just north of Roosevelt Road.  630-469-8668​

Glen Ellyn Senior Services

​The Glen Ellyn Senior Center is supported by the Village of Glen Ellyn, and is located just next to the church office of Grace Lutheran. Among other services, the Senior Center offers free SHIP (Senior Health Insurance Program) counseling to assist people age 60 and over with questions about Medicare, supplemental insurance or medical insurance problems. Clients with disabilities, or who are 65 or older, can also get assistance with transportation. PADS

Grace members and friends provide food, pack meals, and deliver meals for DuPage PADS clients living at IHC (Interim Housing Center), previously a Red Roof Inn in Downers Grove, located 1113  Butterfield Road just west of Highland Avenue.  630-682-3846
