A few of the opportunities to Love Your Neighbor
Prayer ShawlsSometimes, when people are going through a hard time, it can be difficult to pray. Members of Grace who love to knit or crochet create prayer shawls for anyone who can use prayer. We give these away to whoever needs one, so that even when they've run out of words, they can still be (literally) wrapped in prayer.
CROP WalkSince 1969, the CROP Hunger Walk has supported grass-roots efforts to combat hunger around the globe. This year, the Walk will take place on Sunday, May 1, starting at St. Matthew's United Church of Christ in Wheaton.
If you'd like more information, you can visit the Glen Ellyn/Wheaton CROP walk site here. If you'd like to walk with Grace Lutheran Church, or support our team financially, please click here. |
Pill Bottles for MissionsDue to the large amount of bottles in our backlog, we are not accepting donations of bottles at this time. However, you are welcome to assist us in cleaning and shipping what we have!
We sort, de-label, and wash vitamin and prescription medicine bottles for distribution to international medical missions, which use them to send medicines home with patients (who otherwise have to tuck pills into a pocket wrapped in a scrap of paper). The Pill Bottle Ministry meets every Tuesday from 6-7:30pm. We also offer supervision for people who work on this project to fulfill community service requirements.

PADSGrace members and friends provide a meal, set up sleeping pads, and staff the PADS site at First Presbyterian Church on the first Thursday of each month, September through April.
